This tool copies pages from each selected PDF into a new PDF in the order shown in the file list. The page bytes are handled locally with pdf-lib, so there is no upload step and no server-side document storage.
Merge PDF is for combining and reordering whole documents. It does not OCR scanned pages, edit text, delete individual pages, or change page content.
Does this upload my files?
No. Everything on this page runs locally in your browser, so your files are never uploaded to a server. Close the tab and nothing is left behind. It even keeps working if you go offline after the page loads.
This is true for every tool on this site. Curious how that works? Read how browser-side processing works.
FAQ
Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. The selected PDFs are read by your browser, merged locally, and downloaded from a local blob URL.
Can I change the order before merging?
Yes. Add multiple PDFs, then use the Move up and Move down buttons to control the final page order.
Does Merge PDF edit text or OCR scanned pages?
No. It combines existing PDF pages in order. It does not recognize text, rewrite page content, or edit the document body.
Can password-protected PDFs be merged?
No. Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are refused because the browser cannot safely read their pages without a password flow.
